Back by Popular Demand – The Mill Opens Its Doors once again
Fashion and interiors enthusiasts are in for a treat later this month when we open our doors again over two consecutive Saturdays.
Marton Mills usually produces fabrics for commercial clients but on Saturday 26th October and Saturday 2nd November a pop-up shop will be held to let individuals browse and buy their Yorkshire made fabrics.
Laura Watts, who runs the family-owned business, said: “Our usual customers are large companies that buy in bulk, which means we find ourselves with fabrics in quantities that are too small for commercial buyers but ideal for upholsterers, dressmakers, sewing enthusiasts, tailors, crafters and design students.”
“Since the success of previous pop-up shops we’ve had demand for future events to buy our fabrics. We have therefore decided to span the shop over two Saturdays, giving more people the opportunity to visit.”
“There’ll be hundreds of our fabrics to choose from – including our popular pure wool tweeds and wool blends – we’d love to see them in the hands of creative people. There are so many talented people and companies in Yorkshire committed to local sourcing. For those seeking finished products there’ll also be pure wool cushions and throws, all woven here in Yorkshire.”
The Mill Shop will be open from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 26th October and Saturday 2nd November at Pool Mills, Pool in Wharfedale, Otley, West Yorkshire LS21 1TA.
